On April 18th, 2023 The DRIVE Magazine launched the inaugural, premier issue of W.O.W magazine. The magazine focuses on highlighting the brilliant women in our community, their inspirational stories and advice, and their contributions to various industries.

We are honoured to call Gloria Cavenago, ESHF Events Development Officer, our own. Gloria is the Development Office of Events here at Erie Shores Health Foundation and is a true light and inspiration in our organization and community. Gloria continues to develop and organize many major events, engaging the community and raising significant dollars for our benefiting organizations: Erie Shores HealthCare and the Hospice, Erie Shores Campus.

We are also fortunate to work closely with Nancy Brockenshire, Executive Director of our benefiting organization, the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, and Amber Hunter, Executive Director of Transition to Betterness, our #PartnerInComfort as well as many more of these dynamic, female leaders featured in the magazine.

We also had the opportunity of creating an ad for the publication that celebrates the amazing team, individuals, volunteers, and partners that are essential to helping us advance healthcare in our community.

Along with The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, we are grateful and proud to announce that The Lucky Rock and Roll, hosted and organized by Linda Enns and Don St. Dennis, raised $20,421.75 for the Hospice, Erie Shores Campus!
Linda and Don would like to express their gratitude and attribute the success of the event to all of those who helped shape the very first Lucky Rock and Roll event from volunteers, sponsors, attendees and more.
The Lucky Rock and Roll was a sold-out St. Patrick’s Day celebration hosted at the Roma Club of Leamington with rockin’ music by the British Beat 66 on March 17th, 2023.
Linda and Don are true Hospice Heros – believing in, furthering and representing the exceptional care and support that hospice provides to our community.
Between her annual Calendar, with photos of the Leamington area that Linda takes herself, and The Lucky Rock and Roll, Linda has truly demonstrated the value and possibilities in combining passion with giving back.
With immense gratitude, we are very proud to announce that Linda has raised a total of $64,000+ for the Hospice, Erie Shores Campus over the last 4 years. Linda is very thankful for all that have supported her over the years.
Thank you Linda and Don! We are honoured to have Linda and Don as a part of our Foundation Family.
Mark your calendars! The second annual Lucky Rock and Roll will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2024!

Dr. Peter Buzek donated $22,726 to our #BetterBeds campaign for Erie Shores HealthCare (ESHC) in November of 2022.
As a local physician, Dr. Buzek wanted to emphasize the need for quality, comfortable beds for both patients and care providers and inspire others to give to the campaign as well.
Dr. Buzek’s Giving Tuesday match incentive helped raise an extra $17,000 for Better Beds.
Last week, Dr. Buzek joined Tracy Oswald (ESHF), Debbie Kobayashi (ESHF), Gloria Cavenago (ESHF) and Beth Hall (ESHC) at ESHC to see a new bed that was purchased thanks to his donation, and many other community donations.
Thank you Dr. Buzek for recognizing the need for quality equipment in health care and our mission to provide the best quality care possible in our community.

What started out as an idea for a school project for Shyla Rocha and Carys D’Alimonte, students at Cardinal Carter Catholic School, became a $18,114.95 donation to MRI coming to ESHC! This donation exceeded the two young ladies’ goal and dreams for the event.

The girls’ held their Honouring Herstory event on March 5th in honour of International Women’s Day. The event was fabulous, with lunch, gelato and espresso bars, pop-up shops, prize raffles, a mini fashion show, live music and so much more!
Jennifer Dawson (second from the left), ESHC Board Member, and Dr. Patrick Cervini, Chief of Radiology at ESHC, spoke at the event, highlighting the significance of local access to an MRI for everyone in the community.
Shyla and Carys’ donation will help Erie Shores Health Foundation purchase Erie Shores Health Care’s very first MRI machine.
Operations of the machine post-purchase will be funded by the government.
Accessible health care impacts everyone, and no matter your age, YOU can help us make a difference! Thank you, Shyla, Carys and to everyone who supported Honouring Herstory.

On March 29th, 2023, Kids Curing Cancer visited The Hospice, Erie Shores Campus Welcome Centre with their family, the ESHF team and Hospice team members to present an amazing $30,039.88 donation dedicated to the Hospice, Erie Shores Campus.
This $30,000 is a product of several fundraising efforts, partnerships and a year full of hard work.
Kids Curing Cancer also announced that this brings their grand total over 10 years to $116,599.88 spread across various local charities. What a beautiful ode to their Grandfather, Dan Gerald – the motivation behind their mission to support local patients and families battling cancer.

Efforts by the Kids Curing Cancer group included a beautiful Pasta Dinner and Music Night at Sprucewood Shores Winery, Holiday Cookie Kit sales, a partnership with South County Predators Girls Hockey Association, Kids Curing Cancer merch sales and more.
We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the impact Kids Curing Cancer has had on our local Hospice and our community at large. Let this group be an inspiration to all that YOU can make your community a better place.
In addition to the total presentation, Kids Curing Cancer took the opportunity to thank all of the organizations that helped them get to this number and emphasis what drives them; passing on the care that their family members received.
It was a very special night for the Erie Shores Health Foundation team and Kids Curing Cancer.

Kim Cavers donated 12 new TV’s to the Hospice, Erie Shores Campus in loving memory of her husband Darrin Cavers! Kim worked so hard to accomplish this goal in lieu of the comfort Darrin found in watching movies with his family during his time at hospice. It is also simple to play music with these new systems which was so important to Darrin. Kim hopes that other patients will enjoy the ease of accessing the therapeutic benefits of this.

Thank you, Kim, for helping ESHF and The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County ensure families are comfortable Kim!

Last week, the Kingsville Lions Club generously donated $5000 to the Hospice, Erie Shores Campus!
The Kingsville Lions Club team has been beyond generous, continuously helping our Foundation support the needs of both Erie Shores HealthCare and the Hospice, Erie Shores Campus.
Thank you Kingsville Lions Club for your dedication to helping us provide the best quality care.
